Linda McGregor
Annuals/Outdoor Living Manager
Linda has worked for Gateway Garden Center for 10 years, but has been collecting pottery since she bought her first piece in 1971 in Zanesville, Ohio while going to school. Since then, many pieces of pottery from all over the world have found their way to her home. A piece from Dunedin, New Zealand is the furthest away.
Having grown up in a gardening family, her father and mother had 4 acres of gardens and ponds in Centreville, Delaware and her brother owned and operated Styers Nursery for several years. It was natural for her to follow in their footsteps. The family home has been on the Wilmington Garden Day tour as well as the Annual Gateway Water Garden tour.
Linda also collects Hosta and has over 300 varieties along with 27 varieties of Japanese maple. She loves annuals as they brighten up her shady garden. Pansies are her absolute favorite.
While she loves pottery and annuals tremendously, opera is her first love. Prior to coming to Gateway Garden Center she was the Production Manager for OperaDelaware for 10 years. Music, like gardening, is in her soul. Other pastimes include avid reading and collecting of mystery novels and anything to do with SNOW. And now, their new grandson Graeme.
